Visiting The Philippine Military Academy

One place which we visited in Baguio City in our recent visit was  the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) . The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) is  located at Fort Gregorio del Pilar on Loakan Road. While drizzling, it hadn’t    stopped us from the visit thought it was quite uncomfortable but we have to go for the sake of my niece and nephew who were eager to see the academy. The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) boasts of a long and illustrious history of preparing only the best Filipino men — and in recent times, women–  for military service which was exactly the reasons why our youngs were really eager to see the place. Visitors are welcome to explore the grounds, the PMA museum and walk around its manicured grounds to see vintage tanks and other historical military weapons.

Picture taking is always part of any of our Happy Trip. So just to have the real feeling that we’ve visited the place we’ve asked some cadets for some photo op  and  not minding the drizzle.

PMA is full of tradition and pageantry. There are drill exhibitions on weekends  wherein you will see  the cadets performing their drills. Due to our limited time ,we were not able to come back and witness the drill.

How to get there:

By Private or Rented Car — pass through wooded Loakan Road past a fork in the road (to the right will be Loakan Airport), keep going straight until you see the Fort Gregorio del Pilar gate on your right. About 10 km from Burnham Park and Session Road. See map of Baguio City.

By taxi cab — when visitors contract a taxi cab for a day tour of the city, PMA is usually included in the itineray. One may also take a cab to PMA and back to tour the grounds by car and partially on foot.

By jeepney — take the Plaza-Loakan-PMA jeepney from the Central Business District.
